Export & backup

Download your income, expenses, and 50/30/20 breakdown as a styled Excel file — or save a backup file you can re-import later (or on another device) to pick up where you left off.

The companion app

Your budget lives only in this browser — clear your browsing data and it's gone. FWF Ledger, our companion app, builds the same 50/30/20 split from your real bank transactions instead of typed estimates: every transaction can be re-categorised, and the correction is remembered, so the next charge from that merchant lands where you put it. Irregular pay is smoothed over as many months as you choose, with a set-aside for self-employment tax, and recurring charges are listed with what each one costs you a year. That part is the paid tier; net worth, debts, goals and full export are free. This tool stays free and account-free either way.

How this works

The 50/30/20 rule splits take-home income into three buckets: 50% for needs, 30% for wants, and 20% for savings or extra debt payoff. Add every recurring expense, tag it with the bucket it belongs to, and this page totals each bucket and compares it to your target. That third bucket — savings and extra debt payoff — is the part of the month that moves your net worth up; what you own minus what you owe is where it shows up as a number.

Everything you enter is stored only in this browser (using localStorage) — closing the tab won't lose it, but it also won't follow you to a different device or browser, since there's no account or server involved. Use the export button any time you want a backup or want to move your data somewhere else.
