Why this site exists.

FinanceWithoutFluff is a small, independent personal finance site built around one idea: most money questions have a straightforward numeric answer, and most sites make you scroll past a lot to get to it. So this one doesn't — enter your numbers, get your answer, that's the whole interaction.

Who runs this site

Hi — I'm Dom. I've been a software engineer for over a decade, and this site is my passion project. I'm not a financial advisor, and I don't pretend to be one — I'm someone who got tired of money questions being answered with padding, upsells, and "sign up to see your result," and decided the fix was to build the calculators properly and show the math. A decade of writing software is good training for exactly one part of personal finance: getting the arithmetic right, disclosing the assumptions, and keeping your data on your own device.

The site is published by Kaivora LLC, my U.S. company. There's no venture funding, no content farm behind it, and no bank or lender paying for placement. You can reach me directly at [email protected].

What's here

A set of calculators for the decisions that actually cost real money (mortgages, auto loans, credit card debt, how much house you can afford), a budget tracker built around the 50/30/20 rule, a searchable glossary of financial terms, and a blog that explains one concept per article without padding it out.

Editorial approach

I maintain everything here myself. The editorial approach is simple: plain English, no affiliate placements, and no claims I can't back with arithmetic — and precisely because I'm not a financial professional, every factual claim links a primary source (the CFPB, the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, the IRS) instead of asking you to take my word for it. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser, and every calculator page discloses the formula and assumptions it uses, so you can check the math yourself.

How this site makes money

Honest answer: at the moment, it doesn't. The site is free to use and currently carries no advertising. Ordinary display advertising may be introduced in the future — if it is, the privacy policy will be updated first. What won't change: no affiliate links, no paid placements, and no selling of your data.

Corrections

If you find an error — a wrong number, a broken calculator, an outdated claim — email [email protected] or use the feedback page. Errors are fixed, and the correction is noted on the affected page.
